I painted this inspired by a photo I took at an Aquarium in Florida many years ago. It had a painterly feel to it so I went from there. I painted it almost completely with a small palette knife which was very new for me and I loved it! It was somehow very freeing knowing I couldn't be extremely precise with it. It made it looser and more intuitive.
