This wonderous painting evokes magical Jungle Book energy. The richly-textured background was painted full of pink and yellow and purple and Max told me he saw in it a tree.
 
I helped him mix brown paint and he stroked the trunk and branches into the grooves of the background.  The curved treetop was already there. 
 
Then came the amazing snake looping down from the branch! It's been years since he watched The Jungle Book movie and he used no reference images for this painting.
 
I remain absolutely astounded by his vision and his skill.
